Raymetrics in DEFEA 2025

Meetings with Saudi Arabia’s GAMI and International Recognition in the Defense Sector

Raymetrics SA has reaffirmed its global leadership in innovative LIDAR technologies through key meetings held during its participation in the International Defense Exhibition DEFEA 2025 (May 6-8, Metropolitan Expo, Athens).

At the exhibition, Raymetrics’ Chairman Nikos Kontos, Head of Defense Programs Alexandros Kapetanakis and other senior executives met with Governor Ahmad Abdulaziz Al-Ohali and officials from Saudi Arabia’s General Authority for Military Industries (GAMI) presenting the company’s advanced defense technology solutions.

Raymetrics’ Chairman and CEO, Mr. Nikos Kontos, stated:
Our engagement with GAMI opens new opportunities to deploy our cutting-edge technology in critical areas of the defense industry. We look forward to this collaboration, as Saudi Arabia—with military expenditures surpassing $75.8 billion in 2024—represents a strategic partner for Raymetrics’ international expansion.

International Recognition: Collaboration with NATO and DIANA

Raymetrics further strengthened its global presence through discussions with Dr. Deeph Chana, Director of DIANA, NATO’s Defense Innovation Accelerator. The company was accepted into an operational innovation cluster and invited to participate in the BOMA 2025 exhibition.  Notably, Raymetrics was recently selected as the only Greek company among 2,600 applicants from NATO member states to join the DIANA 2025 program.

DIANA serves as NATO’s innovation accelerator for defense, promoting advanced technological solutions. As part of this initiative, Raymetrics has developed the Coherent Doppler LIDAR System for UAV Detection, a pioneering technology that enables the detection and tracking of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), further reinforcing its position in the defense sector.

At DEFEA 2025, Raymetrics also engaged with:

A delegation from India’s Ministry of Defense and the General Directorate of Defense Equipment and Investments led by Major General Ioannis Bouras.
Discussions focused on establishing partnerships with the Hellenic Center for Defense Innovation (ELKAK) enhancing Greece’s role in the global defense landscape.
